ASTM honors rural youth for

completion of  the USGP programme

 Provides 100% placement to its students in G4S India, the world’s leading

security solutions group after successful completion of USGP (Unarmed Security Guard Pogramme) training program

A unique celebration was undertaken in the suburbs where Institute of Advanced Security Training and Management, the first of it’s kind security training institute also known as ‘ASTM” honored the unemployed youth from the rural population of Thane District, Maharashtra after their successfully completing the USGP training program. This landmark event marked the conclusion of the first pilot batch of this vocational course which is the first of its kind in the country as per NOS (National Occupation Standard) set by SKSDC (Security Knowledge and Skills Development Corporation) under NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation. A felicitation ceremony was held, where the officials of ASTM lived upto their commitment of offering their promised 100% job guarantee, provided the students a placement with G4S India, the world's leading international security solutions group. Present at the function were Mr. Manohar Bidaye(Chairman, ASTM), Mr. Dilip Chenoy(CEO and MD, NSDC), Maj. Gen (Retd.) D. K. Jamwal(COO, SKSDC) along with Mr. Dipanjan Chakraborty, Asst. VP, Training, G4S India.

The valedictory felicitated the 20 certified students for successfully completing the USGP course and their subsequent placement with the world’s leading security services provider G4S India, with the opportunity now to earn a starting monthly salary between Rs. 8,000 and 10,000 along with additional benefits such as ESI, PF and bonuses. Subsequently, Mr. Dilip Chenoy congratulated the candidates and personally handed over the course completion certificates and appointment letters amidst a resounding applause.

The 160 hours (21 days) USGP training program was undertaken with the objective of imparting training and providing livelihood to youth aged between 18 to 35 years of age with minimum HSC qualification in conformity to the requirements laid down by the PSAR Act 2005. This course curriculum and the related instructors have also been duly accredited by SKSDC.

Speaking about the felicitation, Mr. Dipanjan Chakraborty, Asst. VP, Training, G4S India said,” There has been a lack of adequately trained security personnel in the industry and we are always looking for skilled people. When we came across the USGP course and the training support delivered by ASTM, we spoke to them and decided to absorb these highly trained individuals in our organization. We look forward to ongoing future collaboration with ASTM to provide us with a pool of skilled, certified and employment ready students.” Going by the quality of training imparted by ASTM, we are happy to have signed up a MOU with ASTM to continuously draw from them trained security manpower pan India aligned to our standards and requirements.

According to Mr. Dilip Chenoy, CEO and MD, NSDC,” The rising unemployment has always been a grave concern; hence we are happy to support partners like ASTM for the worthy cause of providing vocational employment to the rural youth and catalysing inclusive growth. I would like to congratulate ASTM for having successfully churned out the first pilot batch of students under the USGP program with employment offers. We will keep supporting such initiatives and look forward to working with ASTM in similar skilling programmes into the future.”

Commenting on the occasion Mr. Manohar Bidaye, Chairman, ASTM says, “Through the USGP initiative, our aim has been to uplift the livelihood of people, by providing them with qualitative training and job opportunities. It makes us proud to see our students receive certification along with getting decent placements, for which I would like to thank G4S India. This was just our first USGP batch and we wish to conduct similar programmes in the future.”
