1800 runners expected for JITTHON

Mumbai, April : Around 1800 runners, among them the state’s leading male and female long distance athletes are expected to participate in JITTHON 10K to be flagged off in Juhu on April 14.

The event will offer total prize money of Rs 2 lakhs and runs will be held for men and women in three age groups, namely 18-35, 35 to 55 and 56 and above over the distances of 5K and 10K.

The winners in each category will take home prize money of Rs 15,000, besides Brooks running shoes, while the 10K top three finishers will also get watches from Titan Traq.

The event and route measurement is AIMS certified and the event is affiliated with the Mumbai Suburban District Association.

The event is being organized by the Juhu chapter of The Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) to promote the cause of ‘Ahinsa’ or compassionate living.

JITO is a global body of Jains who have come together to promote social causes. The JITO is spread over 11 countries, has 65 chapters and its membership strength is around 14300.
