International Women’s Day Celebration at #SheBuildsBHARAT Event

Mumbai, March 11, 2025: Union Bank of India proudly participated in the #SheBuildsBHARAT celebration of International Women's Day, organized by the Government of India's Ministry of Women and Child Development and supported by the World Bank Group.

The event took place at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, and was graced by the presence of Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, who delivered the keynote address. Other esteemed guests included Union Ministers, business leaders, celebrities, and women achievers across various fields.

MD & CEO A. Manimekhalai represented Union Bank of India at the high-level plenary discussion on "Capitalising on Women Power: Breakthroughs in Financial Inclusion." She emphasized the transformative impact of woman power in the banking sector, highlighting the significant progress made by women-led businesses.

"The combination of government schemes and systematic credit push by the banking sector has empowered women-led businesses to achieve remarkable growth and contribute to the #SheBuildsBharat mission," said A. Manimekhalai.

Union Bank of India reaffirms its commitment to promoting women's economic empowerment and financial inclusion, aligning with the government's vision for a more equitable society.
