Dell Unveils New Tablets and PCs Featuring Windows 8

Dell is ushering in the next era of computing with a redesigned portfolio of business and consumer PCs designed to take advantage of advances in new operating systems.  Built to best optimize Windows 8, Dell has crafted inspired designs that enable new user experiences and make touch computing available to more customers than ever before.  This new product range is specially designed to provide the next wave of computing experience and address evolving customer desires. The XPS 12 convertible, Latitude 10 tablet, Latitude 6430u Ultrabook, OptiPlex 9010 All-in-One with touch and the S2340T Win8 multi-touch monitor are the new products unveiled by Dell today. 

The new offerings free customers from carrying multiple devices, helping them save time and be more productive. The durable designs offer security and manageability, empowering users to keep pace in an always-connected world. 

The new products come equipped with enterprise ready features, an intuitive touch experience, the security and manageability required by today’s always-on pace and with the design aesthetic, style and precision workmanship customers’ demand. This will help in enabling companies to give employees devices they want to use while maintaining the IT security and manageability necessary for enterprise-class deployments.

XPS 12 convertible
The product offers the power of a laptop with the convenience of a Tablet. It features a novel and elegant flip hinge touchscreen display designed to take advantage of the Windows 8 operating system advances for touch interaction. The result is two products in one, providing the full functionality of an ultraportable laptop with keyboard plus the convenience of a tablet. The innovative flip hinge design can easily transition from laptop to tablet to laptop and features a Full HD screen that provides 97 percent more pixels than a standard HD display. The result is an exceptionally crisp reading and photo and video viewing experience. The XPS 12 convertible features thoughtful design, attractive aesthetics, and is crafted from premium materials such as machined aluminum and carbon fiber, as well as Corning Gorilla Glass for durability.

Latitude 10 Tablet

The 10-inch Latitude 10 tablet fits simply and securely into existing IT environments and offers rich multi-media features, accessory compatibility, and full compatibility with current Windows applications that takes advantage of the latest advances in touch-enabled applications and allows businesses to confidently bring tablets into their enterprises. Like all products in Dell’s commercial laptop line, the Latitude 10 fits easily into current enterprise IT environments by supporting existing productivity applications and plugs into existing management consoles. The Latitude 10 plugs easily into existing management consoles, features a swappable battery and robust security options like Dell Data Protection | Encryption, which encrypts all data from the hard drive to the USB port. 

Latitude 6430u 

The Latitude 6430u is a 14-inch Ultrabook that strikes the balance between aesthetic appeal and corporate needs with the combination of security, manageability and durability in a thin, highly-mobile form factor and striking design. The new design is 33 percent slimmer and 16 percent lighter than Dell’s current 14-inch Latitude notebook, making it a desirable option for mobile workers. It also features all-day productivity with a single battery change, an advantage for people unable to conveniently recharge their batteries.

Dell OptiPlex 9010 All-in-One

The sleek OptiPlex 9010 23-inch All-in-One continues to empower productivity while preserving precious desk space. As businesses incorporate touch interfaces into work environments, collaboration and productivity can increase, but some workers have space limitations. The business-class All-in-One offers options for a multipoint touchscreen, fixed or rotating camera, and an articulating stand to optimize the user’s work experience.    

New Touch screen Experiences

Dell is not only designing tablets and PCs for Windows 8, but also is updating its line of computing peripherals.  Dell has also introduced a 23-inch S2340T multi-touch monitor and notebook hub designed specially to extend the Windows 8 experience. Seamless and intuitive to use, the S2340T is Dell’s first multi-touch monitor, designed to maximize a media entertainment experience with beautiful aesthetics, performance and a multi-position, 90-degree articulating stand. Users can place multiple fingers on the smooth, durable glass touch surface; the multi-touch functionality provides expanded capabilities when using the new apps on Windows 8.   The S2340T monitor brings Windows 8 alive across Dell’s entire range of systems, helping users experience touch features even when connected to non touch PCs.
