National Award-winning Director Hansal Mehta Reflects on 30 Years in the Film Industry

National Award-winning director Hansal Mehta completes 30 years in October this year as he speaks exclusively to WION’s Zeba Khan on giving a platform to deserving talent in the country, working with Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao and some of the finest actors of the industry, his collaboration with Gagan Dev Riar on Scam 2003 and so much more.

Hansal Mehta's Approach to Storytelling : Hansal Mehta's career has been marked by his knack for selecting compelling stories that resonate deeply with audiences. When asked about his process for choosing projects, Mehta said, "I think the stories pick me." He emphasized that stories that consume his thoughts and emotions are the ones he feels compelled to tell.

A 30-Year Journey in the Film Industry : Hansal Mehta is approaching a significant milestone, as October marks 30 years since the first episode of "Karkasana" aired on television. He reminisced about his early days in the industry, highlighting the trust and support he received from Subhash Chandra, the founder of Zee TV, where he began his career. Mehta's journey from a novice with no industry experience to a successful filmmaker is a testament to the power of instinct, bravery, and trust in one's choices.
