400 Overseas Buyers in town; Exports to exceed $ 52 bn by 2019

 

‘Make in India’ and 'Export from India' is the mantra at Commerce Ministry

Chemical Industry to benefit from the government policies

The Government has allowed 100% FDI


Mega 3 days event spread over 10000 sqm and sees 400 hosted foreign buyers, 500 exhibitors and over 7000 business visitors


The approximate global potential for exports of products overseen by PLEXCONCIL, CHEMEXCIL, CAPEXIL & SHEFEXIL is US$ 3.3 trillion and at present India's share is only US$ 46.71 bn (1.4%)

Mumbai, March 2019: The government is pulling all stops to encourage Indian businesses promote their products across the world. Exports seem to be a major thrust now with Make in India campaign well on its way successfully. Among the several on-ground initiatives as a part of this strategy, Commerce Secretary, Anup Wadhawan today inaugurated 4th CAPINDIA 2019, the three-day mega expo focused on Chemicals, Plastics, Building & Construction Materials, Mining & Mineral Products, Paper, Printing, Publications Stationery Products, Shellac, Forest and allied Products.  

Co-organised by four Indian export promotion councils, CHEMEXCIL, PLEXCONCIL, CAPEXCIL AND SHEFEXIL; the three-day mega expo will host Business Meetings and Discussions, Exhibition, Seminars, Buyer-Seller Meets and participation by over 500 Indian exporters showcasing a range of Industrial & agricultural inputs, consumer items, packaging items, plastics processing machinery and more.
Speaking on the occasion, Commerce Secretary, Anup Wadhawan said, “The total global imports for the products covered under the ambit of CAPINDIA are estimated at about US$ 3.3 trillion and India's current exports are only about US$ 46.71 bn. CAPINDIA 2019 will help showcase India as a reliable and competitive sourcing hub for Chemicals, Plastics, Building &  Construction Materials, Mining & Mineral Products, Paper, Printing, Publications Stationery Products, Shellac, Forest and allied Products. This portfolio should play a significant role in Government's ambitious target of achieving an export of USD 900 billion by 2020.”
Shyamal Misra, Joint Secretary Commerce said “CAPINDIA 2019 is poised to be the ideal platform for sourcing and business networking, as it seeks to establish itself amongst the most prestigious and recognized events of the industry, both domestically as well as internationally. This évent aims to showcase India as a reliable and competitive sourcing hub for the products of your sector. The Make in India initiative of the Government is aimed at targeting the world as our market. Trade fairs are one of the major vehicles for promoting trade. It is our endeavour to make CAPINDIA a leading international networking event”.
Mr. Ajay Kadakia, Chairman CHEMEXCIL said ‘’CAPINDIA 2019 exhibition presents an excellent opportunity to look into the future, to cultivate new ideas and to build bridges for more productive collaboration and inclusive growth of economy. A Mega Expo of this magnitude is perhaps the best manifestations of India’s liberal, democratic, multi- lingual, multi-cultural and secular society. This initiative of the Ministry will no doubt, bring together a large number of Indian exporters to engage with International buyers and showcase our world – class manufacturing strengths and capabilities for boosting exports.  In the current year (April”18 to Feb 2019 period), exports of items under CHEMEXCIL purview have increased by 24% to touch USD 17.19 bn and are likely to end the year at around USD 18.5 bn’’.
Mr. Ravish Kamath, Chairman PLEXCONCIL said ‘’This year with participation of leading Indian manufacturers & exporters as well as a strong international buyer presence that spans over 53 countries, CAPINDIA continues its growth year on year, bringing together all stakeholders on a common platform that has been adding significant value to not only their own business but also the growth of these exports’ segments. India’s export performance for the plastic sectors in the current year 2018-19 (April- Feb) has been encouraging the growth rate of 25.0%. With continued efforts and events such as CAPINDIA we are well on our way to  garner a share of 3.5% of the total global exports’’.
Mr. R Veeramani, President CAPEXIL said ‘’The global economic outlook continues to be negative due to elevated political and trade tensions between China & the United States, fuelling economic uncertainty. Undoubtedly,  nations are resorting to protectionist measures and creating invisible walls against free trade. Indian exports for the period February 2019 were $26.67bn with a nominal growth of 2.44% due to tough global conditions and domestic constraints’’.

Nayak, Chairman SHEFEXIL said ‘’CAPINDIA 2019 is emerging as one of the largest sourcing and networking events focussing on 4 key industry sectors, and has gained currency as a high-power event year on year  as it is held under the aegis of the Department of Commerce, Govt. of India, and supported by Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Govt. of India. Consolidating India’s position in world exports, the event is aimed to showcase the country’s capability and strengths in ‘Make in India’ and 'Export from India'.   Overseas buyers from over 50 countries participating in CAPINDIA 2019 include Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tanzania, Morocco, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Chile, Columbia, Senegal, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The 3-day Mega Expo  showcases a wide range of Industrial & Agricultural Raw Materials, Consumer Items, Packaging Items, Plastics Processing Machinery and Construction Materials, Mining Products amongst others. Demonstrating significant participation from Granite, Natural Stone, Marble, Minerals and Ores, Paints, Coating, Glassware, Furniture, Ceramic, Sanitaryware, Cement, Clinkers, Asbestos, Paper, Paperboard, Stationary products, Book Publishers and Printers,  the show is expected to receive over 7000 visitors including Domestic & Overseas buyers, International Agents and Distributors seeking market representation from Indian exporters, end-users seeking raw materials for captive consumption, Private Label Buyers, Merchant Exporters, Industrial and Marketing Consultants, Central and State Government Departments & Agencies and many more.
