Petroleum Ministry launches month-long ‘SAKSHAM’ Campaign

सक्षम-2021 (संरक्षण क्षमता महोत्सव) is an important national program initiated by Government of India for energy security, sustainable development and environment protection of our country. 

The ultimate goal of the program is to curb wasteful expenditure on fossil fuel, reduce the growing burden on foreign exchequer and protect the environment from the adverse effect of Green House Gases emanating from burning of fossil fuels.

Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and State Level coordinators of Oil Industry take up various initiatives with the active involvement and support from the concerned State Government to spread mass awareness.

Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) has been in the forefront to create mass awareness towards conservation of petroleum products, promoting fuel-efficient equipment and helping the government in proposing policies and strategies for petroleum conservation.

With the same earnest सक्षम (संरक्षण क्षमता महोत्सव) 2021 has been organized during 16^th January, 2021 to 15^th February, 2021, with a tagline ‘हरित एवं स्वच्छ ऊर्जा ’ (Green and Clean Energy) all over the country. 

As part of this, Oil Industry in Maharashtra organized Virtual Inaugural function on 16^th January, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in the auspicious presence of Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

The program was telecasted live on youtube which was viewed and liked by more than 2108 viewers and appreciated by all.

The program started with National Anthem followed by Pledge on Conservation of Fuel.

Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra was facilitated by Shri Santosh Nivendkar, State Level Coordinator Oil Industry-Maharashtra & welcome address was given by him.

The various activities will be carried out during the month are,  Fuel Conservation in Schools/Colleges, Petrol Pumps, Gas Agencies, Campaigns on Fuel Conservation through Technical Meets/Workshops, Group Talk at RWAs, Campaigns for Clubs/Societies/NGOs/Groups etc, Fuel Efficient Driving Contest, Talk show on TV/Radio, etc. 

Around 24 types / 2000 nos  activities will be conducted in State of Maharashtra during SAKSHAM-2021

PCRA Awards for Best Depots at State Level on Fuel Conservation for the year Oct 2019 to Sept 2020 were declared to BEST- Mumbai, MSRTC-Mumbai and PMPML-Pune based on 4 categories. Annual trophy & cash award would be given to the Best depot on “Maximum improvement in KMPL” over previous year.

The virtual program concluded with Vote of thanks and National Anthem.
