4th Batch of P.D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC’s Allied Health Sciences Courses celebrate their Convocation

Mumbai, 14 September, 2016: With the ever increasing gap of medical professionals, P.D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC while keeping to its aim of providing quality healthcare, also extended its area of expertise in the field of education through its Allied Health Sciences Courses in 2012. In December 2013, P.D. Hinduja Hospital became the first hospital to initiate courses under the Star Scheme of Government of India and to receive affiliation from the HSSC (Health Sector Skills Council), a non-profit organization, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Today, the fourth batch (2015-16) of Allied Health Sciences Courses celebrated their convocation and the next batch (2016-17) was inducted.
Addressing the audience, Mr. Gautam Khanna, CEO, P.D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC said, “At P.D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC, we strive to provide the finest quality medical treatment to patients, and strongly believe that quality healthcare starts with excellent and well educated healthcare professionals. The demand and supply gap for skilled professionals in the allied health sciences area is huge and we have always been at the forefront to help reduce this gap with the help of courses offered by our hospital. Today, I congratulate all the students for their success and wish the next batch all the very best.”
This year P.D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC witnessed a total of 78 students and participants who opted for the Allied Health Sciences Courses- the highest number so far. Further, every student since the initiation of the Courses, who opted for the HSSC exam will be awarded their certificates as part of the ceremony. Most of these students will be getting placed in renowned medical institutes and some have already been recruited by P.D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC.
Motivating the students, Chief Guest, Dr. Sanjay V. Deshmukh, Vice Chancellor, Mumbai University said, “It has been an absolute honour and pleasure to be a part of this ceremony. This is a commencement of these students’ lives into the service of mankind. I take this opportunity to congratulate all the students and their parents for having made sacrifices to educate their children. There is a huge requirement for medical professionals in our country and believe that this initiative will help all these individuals touch new heights in their career.”
Dr. Paresh Navalkar, Director, Lifesupporters Institute of Health Sciences (LIHS) further articulated that, “Working professionally with P.D. The certificate Courses available are full-time and part-time in various areas ranging from Physician Office Assistant, CSSD Technology, Advanced Medical Laboratory Technician, Critical Care Technician, Radiology technician, Dialysis Technician and Operation Theatre Technician, Phlebotomy Technician. The duration of these Courses is one year and is open for H.Sc pass/ Graduates depending on the desired specialization.
