Film Festival India Film Project to be held on 1st October’16

India Film Project, the largest
filmmaking challenge in Asia is outfitted to showcase the finest award
winning films at the sixth edition of IFP festival to be held on October 1st in
Mumbai.
The
challenge required participating teams to make a film within 50 hours, based on
the theme set by the jury and the best out of these will be publicized to the
audience at the grand day long film affair happening at Hall 6, NESCO Goregaon.
The IFP challenge this year had over
23,600 filmmakers making 1200+ films in 50 hours.
The
audience will see varied perspectives of the participants in the form of motion
pictures which will revolve around the theme ‘Top of the World’ in genres of
Humour, Drama, Adventure and Experimental. One of the important elements
required in the films is for them to be comic.
Applicants
from more than 20 countries namely USA, UK, Australia, China, Dubai, Pakistan,
Bangaldesh, etc and from 262 cities in India including metros like Mumbai,
Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Delhi to smaller towns like Bilaspur, Dibrugarh,
Jabalpur, Kolhapur and Sagar took the challenge of making films in a limited
duration.
The
event on October 01 will have two stages set up for further, interesting
activities and workshops. While Stage 1 will see workshop by Culture Machine,
Comedy Factory, Screenpatti on ‘How to go Viral’ from 11am - 12pm; Kanan Gill
on ‘Pretentious Short Film Reviews’ from 12:15pm - 1:15pm; The Viral Fever,
Y-Films and The Film Companion on ‘Anatomy of a Web-Series’ from 1:30pm -
2:30pm; East India Comedy in conversation with Raja Sen on ‘Importance of
giving Offence’ from 2:45pm - 3:45pm and All India Bakchod team in conversation
with Vasan Bala on ‘AIB vs the movies’ from 4pm to 5pm.
Whereas,
Stage 2 will hold workshops by Terribly Tiny Tales and Adhiraj Bose on ‘Telling
a Short Story’ from 11am - 12pm; The Logical Indian team with Omung Kumar,
Ananth Mahadevan and Anand Pandit on ‘How to make a sincere statement in a
world of cynicism and sarcasm’ from 2:45pm
- 3:45pm and Bollywood Gandu and Anisha Rickshawali in conversation with Raja
Sen on ‘Split Personality’ from 4pm to 5pm.
The
event will also feature a Flea Market, Food Truck Festival and Experience
Zones. The awards ceremony will be held
at 6:00 pm and will showcase the 15 winning films from the IFP Challenge made
in 50 Hours. The event begins at 10am and will keep you super entertained till
10pm. It is open and free for all but just requires an RSVP on Bookmyshow.
The
eminent jury for IFP 2016 is comprised of all National Award Winners like
Madhur Bhandarkar, Nagesh Kukunoor, Sriram Raghavan and Southern Super director
Vetri Maaran who will handpick the best films from the lot.
The
best deserving IFP 2016 Film Making teams will be given an honor to create an
ad film for the renowned brand of Coca-Cola. IFP will fund each team, ensure
quality equipments and make the winners work closely with the Coca-Cola team.
The finest works will then be showcased by Coca-Cola across its various
channels including TV, Digital assets, theatres and many more platforms.
