“Motherhood Hospital Successfully Operates On A 1-Day-Old Baby”

by Priya Jadhav ~A rare Cyst was removed from A New-born’s Left Lung~ Pune, January , 2020 : A team of Paediatric Surgeons at Motherhood Hospitals Kharadi successfully operated upon a 1-day-old baby. Baby Ruchika (name changed for confidential purposes) was born with a congenital defect, wherein there were fluid filled cysts being formed in the lung cavity. It was a delicate and critical condition wherein the survival and later the prognosis of the baby could have been compromised. The doctors at the hospital helped a new-born baby girl breathe freely by initially removing fluid from the cyst that was present in her left lung by aspiration process and later performing a lung lobectomy (surgery to remove one of the lobes   of the lung) immediately 1 day after birth. The baby is now home and doing well. The key agriculture productivity-enhancing segments such as the Seed sector, crop protection sector and farm mechanization have suffered from lack of new investments that is worth reflecting. Investment in innovation is insignificant due to the lack of risk capital flowing in this sector. The Billion Dollar plus invested is towards the e.Commerce platforms and retail networks without any significant incremental investment in farm productivity-enhancing inputs or food process capacity creation. The government commitment of investing 1.5 billion in early-stage companies through the sovereign Venture Fund focused Fund of Funds is largely deployed in e.Commerce and product aggregation investments.
