FORM HABIT OF PLAYING LONG INNINGS – VENGSRKAR

Mumbai, 5th Jan :  ‘ Form habit of playing long innings’ said former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar while addressing the under 16 age group cricketers at the Ageas Federal Insurance Vengsarkar Cricket Academy at Mahul, Chembur.  We have organized 40 overs a side tournament so that you can score big hundreds but that ca happen only if you’re determined, discipline and concentrate hard while playing’.  M.I.G. Cricket Club won this tournament by beating Cricket Mantras in the final by 105 runs. 

MIG who elected to bat first scored 168 all out in 36.3 overs.  Tanish Shetty scored 82 runs with 7 fours and one six was the highest scorer for MIG. He was supportd by Yash Ganiga (22), Sanchit Kadam (20) and Aayush Makwana (14).  For Cricket Mantras Parin Dalvi took 3/33 with Laksh Joglekar (2/44) and Ruhaan Chawla (2/32) took two wickets each.  In reply Cricket Mantras could manage to score just 63 all out in 25.1 overs.  Apart from Vansh Chumble (11) and Hriman Rakharde (13) their non other batsman could get double digit mark.  Amartya Raje (3/12) as the most successful bowler for MIG and was well supported by Tanish Shetty (2/8) and Sanchit Kadam (2/9). 


Tanish was declared as the man of the match in the final.  As he scored 198 runs and took 8 wickets in the tournament he was adjudged as best batsman and also best player of the tournament award.  Parin Dalvi (12 wickets) was the best bowler and Neil Verma (both from Cricket Mantras) was selected for best fielder award.  Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar alongwith Amolika Uplekar , HRD of Ageas Federal Insurance and local MLA Prakash Fatarfekar gave away the prizes.
