An Hour of Earth Hour at The Suryaa

New Delhi, March 27, 2014 - On 28th March, The Suryaa will join millions around the world by observing Earth hour 2014 for a brighter future of the planet between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM. The Suryaa will turn off their lights in guest rooms and public areas and will have burning candles in restaurants and lobby area to join in the celebration and contemplation of our earth.

During this time, there would be minimal use of regular appliances including room lights, air conditioning and other electronic devices.  The hotel staff will also be a part of this event by doing the same in their accommodation.

The Suryaa will commence the Earth Hour with a lantern making session at the lobby for all guests and staff members. The hotel will also organize a walkathon around the New Friends Colony Community Centre with lit lamps where the guests will be encouraged to participate.

"As an environmentally conscious and socially responsible hotel, it's only fitting that The Suryaa participates in Earth Hour to help raise awareness for climate change with our employees and guests," said Mr. Pankaj Mathur, General Manager of The Suryaa.  “We feel every individual should observe the Earth Hour to remind ourselves the importance of preserving mother Earth.” added Mr. Mathur.
