Uttarakhand Apple festival 2016 at Urban Haat, CBD belapur, Navi Mumbai

Uttarakhand Horticulture Marketing Board in association with the Department of Horticulture and Food Processing Uttarakhand organized two days “APPLE FESTVAL – 2016” on 15 & 16 October, 2016 at C.B.D. Urban Haat, Belapur, Navi Mubai. Fresh Apples of different varieties from the remotest part of the state will be the main attraction of the exhibition, different types of organic food grains, pulses, spices, honey in addition to the silk work of the Uttarakhand state will also be presented in the exhibition. The program will jointly be inaugurated by Shree Subhash Deshmukh, Cabinet Minister for Co-operatio, Marketing & Textiles, Government of Maharashtra, Smt. Manda Tai Mhatre, Hon’ble MLA. Belapur Navi ;Mumbai and Shree Pritam Singh Panwar, Miister of Horticulture Government of Uttarakhand on 15 October, 2016 at 5.00pm. Apples and all other organic items will also be available for sale to the public in this programme. A short colourful cultural programme based on the vivid culture of Uttarakhad state will also be staged by the folk artists of Uttarakhand.

Press conference was addressed by Mr. Preetam Singh Panwar (Minister of Horticulture Government of Uttarakhand. He told about importance of organic food and their production. Last year Apple production will increase 20 million ton. 


This year environment was not according to production that why production is low as compare to earlier. He told that they coming to here to promoting/marketing their product in market which vendor and consumer will directly order easily. Main vision is that their product will promote worldwide. 

In this festival 30-40 apple varieties display in this exhibition in Urban Haat belapur, Navi Mumbai. Mr. Tikam singh panwar (Aditional secretary horticulture), Mr. B. S. Negi ( Dir. Horticulture), Mr. R.C. Srivastava (CEO Marketing Board Uttarakhand), Mr. S. M. Sharma (Dir. Sericulture), Mr. Nipendra Chauhan (Science CAP),  Mr. A. K. Negi (GM marketing), Mr. Sanjay Srivastava (DHO Dehradun), Mr Mahendra Pal (Research officer Dehradun), Mr. Narendra Kumar ( DHO Uttarkashi), Mr Kundan Singhy Panwar (Udyan Pandit UK) and all officer of Department of Horticulture & Allied) attended and addressed this conference.
