RAJSINGH DUNGARPUR CUP U/15 CRICKET TOURNAMENT

OURS CRICKET ACADEMY TRIUMPH

Mumbai, 28th April : Ours Cricket Academy triumph in the 1st Rajsingh Dungarpur Cup under 15 Cricket Tournament organized by CCI at Broborne Stadium. They beat Mumbai Cricket Club by 7 wickets to clinch the title. Mumbai Cricket Club who elected to bat first after winning the toss lost first five batsman for just 21 runs and then after they never recovered from that shock and were bundled out to just 77 runs in 19.4 overs. Left arm medium pacer Yuvraj Desai (2/9)and medium pacer Dhairya Shah (2/9) skittled their top order very cheaply and that was the turning point of this match. While chasing this target Ours Cricket Academy also lost their inform batsman Elton Soares in first over as he was bowled by Kartik Kumar. But Vedant Patil stood firmly from one end to see his team cross the boundry. Vedant scored unbeaten 28 runs and had 32 runs unbeaten partnership with Kshitij Pal (not out 20).

Elton Soares who scored 158 runs in this tournament was chosen for the best player of the tournament award, and only centurion of this tournament, Aeklawya Khade of Ageas Federal Vengsarkar Cricket Academy (129 runs) was selected as best batsman of the tournament. Best bowler award went to Kartik Kumar and best fielder prize went to Svanik Waghdhare (both from Mumbai C.C.). Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar alongwith former India Allrounder Karsan Ghavri, Mumbai selector Deepak Jadhav, CCI Vice President Darayus Mehta, Anil Deshpande, Sachin Bajaj and CCI Cricket Committee member Raju Parulkar gave away the prizes. While speaking on this occasion Vengsarkar louded the Virar base team Ours Cricket Academy. He said nowadays suburban cricket is developing fast with good infrastructure and facilities in far suburb. He also urged the young cricketers to turn to studies now as academic qualification is also of the same importance as cricket.
