The white paper titled “(Re)Shaping Real Estate Professionals” was presented to Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta, I.A.S, ACS , Town & Country Planning, Haryana.

The objective of the paper is to highlight the need to upskill channel partners by providing globally accepted skills making them employable in domestic and overseas markets.  It recommends a pre-licensing course from an accredited real estate licensing school prior to their RERA registration.

Chandigarh, June 15, 2023 – Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry with its knowledge partner JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle) has presented research to the government of Haryana that highlights the lack of skilled professionals in the real estate industry and thus the need to ‘Reshape Real Estate Professionals’ in the state to regulate as a formal and authorised sector. Keeping in line with the Government of India’s Skill India, the study has suggested to build a learning ecosystem which is in line with our nation’s vision for making India the skill capital of the world, by equipping the youth of India with globally level skills making them employable in domestic and overseas markets.

The delegation led by Mr. Vineet Nanda, Chairman - Regional Urban Infra Committee, FICCI and Director Sales & Marketing, Krisumi Corporation presented the white paper titled “Reshape Real Estate Professionals’ to to Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta, I.A.S, ACS , Town & Country Planning, Haryana.

Mr. Vineet Nanda, Regional Head, FICCI briefed them on education programme to educate the bottom of the pyramid i.e the channel partners who almost contribute to 80% of the transactions. Presently, despite the RERA only 30% of the channel partners are registered across India. The team members associated with the Channel Partners are not skilled. He recommended the State Government should further regulate the environment by spreading the education programme and tie-up with universities that offer certified courses. This will ensure upgradation of skills to earn more, creation of new job opportunities and finally it will lead to more revenues to the state by bringing in more people under the HARYANA RERA ambit. Praising the white paper, Mr. Gupta, I.A.S, ACS, Town & Country Planning, Haryana, said “FICCI / JLL white paper presented is worth introspection and step in the right direction. Haryana government supports transparency in the Real Estate sector and recognises the need for upskilling the workforce in the industry in the state and in this regard, we would like to probe further with FICCI/JLL to understand the need gap. The Honourable PM’s vision on the creation of skilled India along with this initiative by Honourable CM, Haryana, will give a fillip to the state’s job market and economic growth.”

Real estate brokers in most of the developed countries undergoes a formal training and certification program after which they are eligible to get a license. Real estate agents are crucial for the success of real estate sector and increasing the volumes in this sector. As a result, the RERA Act created guidelines for real estate agents to follow in order to hold them accountable for selling real estate in RERA-registered projects. Haryana accounts for a 6% share is mainly due to Gurugram, which is an important commercial and residential zone in the NCR region.

“Across industries, trainings and upskilling to know about the latest market trends is crucial to achieving professional success. That is even truer in the real estate industry. Real estate training will aid the workforce to stay up-to-date with the most recent industry standards and regulations as well as help them competitively promote themselves as a Professional and thus garner respect they deserve. A strategic response to changing skills is fundamental for future proofing,” said Mr. Vineet Nanda. He further added,“I am confident that the policy will be well received by the public of Haryana and will also inspire other governing bodies of states as well. One must embrace lifelong learning practices to keep oneself alert and relevant.”
