AGEAS FEDERAL INSURANCE CUP CRICKET FOR UNDER 14S

DREAM 11 VENGSARKAR CRICKET ACADEMY TRIUMPH

Mumbai, Dec. 5 :  Dream 11 Vengsarkar Cricket Academy Oval Maidan, Churchgate, won the Ageas Federal Insurance Cup for the under 14s at it’s academy’s ground at Mahul, Chembur. They beat Achievers Cricket Academy team by four wickets in the finals.  While batting first Achievers Cricket Academy scored 182/9 in the allotted 40 overs. Rishabh Sadake (25) and Sudhan Sunderraj (19) gave a good start of 51 runs for Achievers. After that Pranav Iyengar (39) and Jashmit Singh (37) added 75 runs for th fifth wicket.  There was good bowling from Shivam Yadav (3/29) and was well supported by Prayag Shah (2/33) and Aharwa Bagwe (2/15).

While chasing this total Dream 11 Vengsarkar Cricket Academy lost wicket when their was no score on board; but thereafter Adhiraj Sathe (32) and Yash Jagtap (89) put together 87 runs for the second wicket and steadied their ship.  Yash again added 46 runs for the fourth wicket in the company of Nilesh Maurya (24) to get teams total to 150.  While marching towards his well deserve century,  Yash got run out  by a direct throw from vyom, needing another 33 runs for the victory.  But they achieved their target in 37.4 overs by losing six wickets. 

Yash Jagtap who scored 205 runs in this tournament with 4 wickets and also 6 catches got best player of the tournament award in addition to man of the match in the finals and also best fielder of the tournament awards.  Rishabh Sadake (228 runs in 3 matches) got best batsman and Vishal Parab (8 wickets in 4 matches) (both from Achievers) got best fielder award. Former India captain and former National Selection Committee Chairman Dilip Vengsarkar along with  Girish Mani of Ageas Federal, Saurabh Poddar, M.D. of Sello Wrap Industries, Polie officers Kedari Pawar and Mahendra Shinde gave away the prizes. Vengsarkar also motivated the upcoming young cricketers of the city.
