HARSH NADKAR 5 WKTS, GAVASKAR XI 87 ALL OUT

AAYUSH SHETYE’S 172 COULD NOT GIVE LEAD TO HIS TEAM


Mumbai, 23rd May : In the second league match concluded today for selecting Mumbai under 14 team, Harsh Nadkar took 5 wickets for 14 runs for Sachin Tendulkar XI to bundle out Gavaskar XI for just 87 runs. Before that they declared their inning on the overnight score of 360/7 runs. After follow on Gavaskar XI ended on 199/3 as Arhaan Patel (66 not out) and Nathaneil Fereira (81 not out) scored 144 runs for the fourth wicket after losing 3 early wickets for 55 runs.


In another match at Oval maidan Ravi Shastri XI who started their inning on 265/6 declared on 304/7. Overnight pair of Neeraj Dhumal (71) and Shon Korgaonkar (50 not out) put together 93 runs for the seventh wicket. Abhishek Pandey (3/65) and Yuvaan Sharma (2/50) bowled nicely. While chasing this target Aayush Shetye scored 172 runs in 182 balls with 23 fours and one six. He was instrumental in two vital partnerships- one with Darshan Rathod (18) for 4th wicket and then 122 runs partnership for fifth wicket with Janmey Pandey (22 n.o.). But his marathon inning could not get the first inning lead for his team. They were restricted to 276 for 5 at the end of the play. Aarav Gupta took 3 wickets for 45 runs.

Last league matches will be played on 25-26 May at Oval maidan and Karnataka Sporting Ground in Cross Maidan.
